Information regarding the 2020 Xmas Event & Flash-based Client!
Dear Settlers,
It won't be long till the first snowflake falls, signalling not only the start of Winter but also that the Xmas Event is just around the corner! For this year's Christmas Event, we have plenty surprises to share with you: some of which will be in the form of a brand new building:
The Concert Hall is a new culture-building that can help bolster the festive spirit of your Settlers with the joys of Christmas songs! As soon as it's built, you'll be able to change the background music of The Settlers Online to one of three popular jovial tunes:
- Jingle All the Way
- We Wish You A Merry Christmas
- Silent Night
That's not all, however: it will also provide a "Musical Boost" - a zone buff of +700% to recruitment speed for your Barracks and Elite Barracks, for 1 hour!
Downloadable Flash-based Client
As we enter the Christmas period, we know you're all eager about the progress of our interim Flash-based Client:
Well, Step 2 is upon us! In a few days, our new client will become available. This client must be downloaded and installed to play the game.
Be aware that this solution is only meant to bridge the time until the Unity version is ready to go live. This new client is still based on Flash, but maintained properly by Harman (
https://services.harman.com/partners/adobe) so it does not present any security risks, even going into 2021.
We will inform you about the actual deployment date soon!
